2012 Civic Natural Gas was awarded Green Car of the year. It was held at LA Auto Show beating the finalists from US, Europe and other Asian carmakers. Japanese car maker welcomed the award.

It is the only factory-built and CNG powered car manufactured in America. As per the company it went on sales in October for $26,155. The company is also planning to expand its retail network to 200 dealers in 36 states.
The 5-strong shortlisted eco-friendly cars used different fuel combinations that demonstrate growing range of options available to cut carbon footprint.
